This listing is part of the 'At Home with Patricia Wells' collection of epicurean objects and decorative antiques.

An antique copper foot / bed warmer or "chaufferette" from the nineteenth century from Chanteduc, the home of Patricia and Walter Wells in Provence. It is branded Stocker, Lyon. Hot coals would have been put inside to keep it warm. Note the little handle indicating that it was carried from place to place for warmth. This was part of a lovely collection of boxes displayed on shelves in Patricia and Walter's bedroom.
