This fun Champagne bucket dates from the 1980s. It is made from plastic in the shape of a top hat. Originally these ice buckets were promotional and gifted to bars, restaurants and bistros. A great gift for a special occasion or wine lover.

Moët & Chandon was established in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay, France. This prestigious champagne house became known for its commitment to excellence and innovation in winemaking. The brand gained international acclaim during the 19th century, particularly under the ownership of Jean-Rémy Moët, Claude’s grandson. Jean-Rémy was instrumental in popularizing champagne outside of France, and he counted many European royals among his clientele. Today, Moët & Chandon is renowned for its luxurious sparkling wines, particularly the iconic Moët Impérial, and is part of the LVMH group.

The "chapeau claque," also known as an opera hat, is a type of collapsible top hat invented in the 19th century. Created by Antoine Gibus in 1812, this hat featured a unique spring-loaded mechanism that allowed it to be easily flattened and spring back into shape. This practical design made it convenient for gentlemen attending the opera or formal events, as it could be stored under the seat without losing its form. The hat became a symbol of elegance and sophistication, and its compact nature made it a popular choice throughout the Victorian era.
