This beautiful mid-century ceramic pitcher , with its traditional, rounded body and slightly flared base, features a striking combination of rich green glaze and warm brown tones. The glaze is subtly variegated, with earthy green hues that are interrupted by soft, white drip-like spots, adding an artisanal, rustic character to the surface.
One of the most distinctive features of the pitcher is its unique "half neck" design, where the neck is partially cut away, creating an asymmetrical shape that draws attention to the fluidity of the form. This half-neck design seamlessly transitions into the wide, prominent "bec pincé" (pinched spout), which adds both visual interest and practical functionality for controlled pouring.
The handle is robust and gracefully arched, attached from the upper neck to the midsection of the body, providing an easy, comfortable grip. The handle's thick, rounded form echoes the curves of the pitcher itself, further enhancing the balanced, cohesive design. Additionally, the potter's mark is stamped near the handle, a sign of its craftsmanship and authenticity.
