Vintage French lidded stoneware preserving pot - brown 9"

A relatively large French stoneware preserving pot from the 1950's. Originally used for storing cornichons and other pickled vegetables. It has a speckled brown glaze and the size "5" on the side. The ribbed handles are pierced, where rope could be threaded through for carrying.
