Very large still life Dechorain (1898-1977) - 35½" x 45¾"

This very large still life is signed Dechorain (1898-1977).

Rolande Dechorain was the daughter of artist Noël Déchorain. She was born in Paris in 1898 and her sister, Lucie Derain, who was born in 1902 was a journalist and author. Rolande was a student of Henri Vergé-Sarrat, and her works (specifically still life) were exhibited at the Gallery Armand Drouant in 1929, prefaced by Marie De Rohan-Chabot. She also exhibited her works at the Salon des Tuileries.

She died in Paris at her home in the 6th arrondissement in 1977.
