Very large original French lantern from a chateau - 18th Century

A monumental antique lantern sourced from a French chateau in Nimes. The glass is most likely the original. There is a central hook indicating that it was originally lit with candles, then converted to gas and later electrified. Must be re-wired and installed in accordance with local requirements. A room with high ceilings and generous proportions will suit this superb large lighting fixture. Eighteenth Century.
