Very large 18th-century blue & white platter 20¾" x 13"

Dating from the eighteenth century, this superb earthenware platter is wonderfully large. It is beautifully finished with hand painted blue floral motifs on a white background. Made in south west France. Note the antique repair as seen from underneath - an iron staple - the traditional method of repair which adds to the history and charm. A lovely piece to display in a vitrine or hang on the wall with other antique blue and white ceramics.
