A rare set of two walnut upholstered armchairs from the early seventeenth century. The beautiful red textured fabric is from the celebrated French fabric house, Prelle. The fabric is fixed with round nailheads. Originally from Chateauneuf de Gardagne (South of France). In good sturdy condition, these would make unique entrance hall chairs on either side of a console. 

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.

Smaller: 40¼" high x 15¾" wide x 18½" deep; 26½" arm height, 18½" seat height.
Larger:  40¼" high x 18" wide x 18½"" deep; 29½" arm height, 19¾" seat height
Measurements in centimetres:
Smaller: 102cm h x 40cm wide x 47cm deep; 67cm arm height, 47cm seat height.
Larger: 102cm h x 46cm wide x 47cm deep; 75cm arm height, 50cm seat height
