Evasio Montanella (1878-1940) was an Italian painter from Genoa, renowned for his simple and vigorous paintings characterized by tonal and chiaroscuro values, reflecting the best of 19th-century traditions. He studied at the Ligustica Academy under Cesare Viazzi and frequently depicted scenes from his native Riviera di Ponente, capturing the lives of fishermen, children, and humble individuals. Montanella's works are noted for their silvery light and bright colors. He was a prominent figure in Genoese art, holding significant exhibitions and earning acclaim during his lifetime.
