Spectacular large saloir pot Charente-Maritime 20½"

Dating from the nineteenth century, this superb 'saloir' is from the coastal Charente-Maritime region. It was originally used for preserving meat with Atlantic rock salt. Note the pretty decoration and intentional tilt to the pot. A rare find with a lovely sculptural quality.
