This superb small-scale Biot jar was used for storing olives and olive oil. It dates from the late nineteenth century and has pretty blush yellow glaze around the rim and inside. It is watertight, with no hole in the bottom. A rare find that will complement antique olive jars of different sizes and bring an unmistakable Mediterranean touch to any garden.
If this is to be used in an area prone to freezing, it is recommended that a plastic liner be used to prevent the pot from cracking. It should also be sheltered over the winter months.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
