A lovely set of antique French terracotta cooking pots with single handles from the nineteenth century, southwest France. Each features a distinctive and timeworn patina with partial yellow glazing. Most likely originates from Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, a village in Provence renowned for pottery. Would make a charming display grouped together in the kitchen, giving a touch of French-country style.
To complete the look, imagine these pots being used to cook a stew in the 1800s, nestled inside the cooking brackets of a dog iron designed for cooking by the fire, as found in our chimney and fireplace accessories collection here.
