Rare pair of small gilded Santibelli antique religious statuettes 11"

Rare due to their smaller size, this nineteenth-century pair of gilded terracotta Santibelli antique religious statuettes would be a splendid addition to Christmas decorations. The figures depict the virgin Mary and Joseph each holding baby Jesus. The figurine of Mary depicts her standing on a cloud with three cherub angels. The baby in Mary's arms holds a dark green ball and wears a gilded crown that matches his mother's. 

The figurine of Joseph shows the baby and Joseph gazing at each other with baby Jesus' hand stretched toward Joseph's face. Both Mary and Joseph are adorned in gilded robes and sit on pedestals painted with black and gold paint.  These figures would make wonderful additions to nativity scene décor or as a special gift at Christmas to be displayed on wall brackets. 

Note a repair has been made to Mary's hand, and Joseph's right hand at one time held something such as tole and paper flowers.
