These superb gilded Louis XV period wall sconces date from the eighteenth century. Their frames feature pretty openwork to the crest and a makes that holds the candle from its mouth. Note, one mirror is rather opaque with a timeworn patina. The mirrored backs were designed to throw more light from the flickering flames - adding great atmosphere to a space.
