Rare Louis XVI-style gilded chair w/ petit medallion back & pretty floral silk upholstery

This heart-stopping Louis XVI style gilded wood chair with petit medallion back and delicate rose pattern silk upholstery has an intimate scale destined to charm its company. Dating from the late nineteenth century, France, this petit chair features classic Louis XVI and Empire-style elements such as its fluting on its front legs and upper frame as well as die joins. The top of the seat back is crowned with a pretty delicate gilded bow crest. The silk fabric is in lovely condition and features an elegant floral medallions decorated with rose and leaf garlands. Its unique petit medallion back is open in the back to see expertly applied upholstery on both sides.
