Melon serving dish, rare, late-18th-century, Biot

This melon serving dish or melonnière dates to the late 18^th century. It has a lovely yellow glaze which is beautifully aged. This rare dish was made in Biot, a village known for its artisan pottery. Condition consistent with age and use.
