This rare seafood service dates from the 1950s and was made by the Cerennes Atelier in Vallauris (a Mediterranean village with a long pottery history). The set is entirely handmade and painted, each piece has a unique design -note how the fish have been painted to appear half in / half out of water and the edges of the plates are undulating and finished with blue - perhaps to evoke the waves of the Mediterranean. A collector's item - this set can be used or displayed on the wall.

Included are:
10 plates
1 platter
1 sauce boat

The Cerenne Workshop was a ceramic creation studio active in Vallauris between 1945 and 1958. Founded by Charles René Neveux, it derived its name from the contraction of its business name "Céramique René Neveux." At its peak, the workshop was one of Vallauris's largest, employing around fifty people, including fifteen decorators. Its production ranged from utility ceramics to unique pieces, fulfilling special orders for both French and international clients.
