A terrific, rare antique French terracotta pitcher with stunning green glaze from the south of France. Dating from the end of the nineteenth / early twentieth century, this pitcher features a bulbous shape with two handles and a long spout. Note the contrasting interior ochre glazing and two small drain holes which were added later to the bottom.
This unique pot could be used as a cachepot for a plant in your kitchen or added to a collection of pottery to instantly bring the charm of France to your home. Note the dark-colored veining in the green glazing around the spout as seen in photos. Note minor chips to exterior glaze.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
