A fine cloisonné Japanese bowl or vide poche from the late nineteenth-century. It stands on three bronze hoof feet decorated with sphinxes - one is slightly bent - refer to photos. The top is cloisonné produced in Japan, circa 1875. The technique involves the surface being enameled then kiln fired with metal enclosures.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
