A preparatory portrait of an English boy by Italian artist Giuseppe Da Pozzo, (1844–1919). The boy is believed to be English and he was holidaying with his family in Venice. His parents requested that Da Pozzo come to paint his portrait. This is the preliminary portrait that the artist made with pastel on paper to then create the final portrait in his studio afterwards. Signed and dated 1898.
