This dainty pair of andirons date from the Louis XIV period. They are made from timeworn bronze and wrought iron. They were probably originally silver but over time, and with the heat of the fire, they have become golden. A lovely pair of dog irons to use in a small fireplace.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
