Domaine de la Mordorée is a relatively young but highly respected winery located in the Tavel region of the southern Rhône Valley in France. It was established in 1986 by Christophe Delorme and his father, Francis Delorme. The name "Mordorée" refers to the French term for the woodcock bird, which flies over the vineyards during migration, and this symbolizes the winery's deep connection with nature and is the logo of the winery.
From its inception, Domaine de la Mordorée has focused on producing high-quality wines with a strong emphasis on respecting the environment. The estate quickly earned acclaim for its robust and flavorful Tavel rosé, which is often considered among the best in the region. Besides Tavel, they produce a variety of other wines, including reds and whites from nearby appellations like Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Lirac.
Christophe Delorme's approach was meticulous, embracing organic and biodynamic practices to enhance the vineyard's health and the wines' quality. After his untimely death in 2015, his daughter Ambre continues his legacy, maintaining the winery’s reputation for excellence.
