Pair of French chapeau gendarme back club chairs

This fine pair of chapeau gendarme back club chairs date to the 1950’s. The silhouette on the top of the back rest resembles a policeman’s hat, hence the name chapeau gendarme. The cushions have been replaced with new plume, all other leather is original.

All of our leather club chairs have their bases replaced by specialist artisans in France. Wear, marks and rich patina is consistent with age and use – refer to photos.
