A charming and rather unusual pair of wooden folding garden chairs by Thonet dating to the early 1900s, retaining traces of their original green paint alongside later touch-ups accumulated over time. The frames still show areas of softly faded green, while the slatted seats have largely worn back to exposed wood that has naturally darkened to a silvery grey through age and outdoor use. Oxidized screws, weathered surfaces, and uneven remnants of paint all contribute to the authentic patina of the pair, giving them the relaxed character of long-used garden and café furniture.  The chairs remain sturdy and fold smoothly, with the gentle looseness and movement expected from antique folding chairs of this age.
With their softly faded green finish and timeworn patina, these chairs bring immediate atmosphere to a terrace, conservatory, or garden room. Their light, foldable construction makes them wonderfully versatile, whether gathered around a small bistro table, used occasionally for extra seating, or simply leaned decoratively against a wall.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
