Émile Tessier (1870-1950) was a distinguished French ceramicist renowned for his white glazed ceramics, which gained prominence in the early 20th century. Born in Tours, France, Tessier developed a profound interest in ceramics from a young age. He later established his own workshop in Malicorne-sur-Sarthe, a town known for its rich pottery tradition.

Tessier's work is particularly noted for its pristine white glaze, adorned with intricate motifs such as the fleur-de-lis, delicate twists, and simple floral decorations. His extensive range of ceramics included culinary items and decorative pieces.

For a more comprehensive understanding of his life and contributions, refer to the book Émile Tessier - Le "patron" faïencier de Malicorne, which provides an in-depth look at his catalog of designs and his impact on the ceramics industry as a master ceramicist.
