This rare, museum quality vinaigrier dates from the eighteenth century and was crafted in the pottery village of Saint-Jean-de-Fos in Southern France. It has an emerald green glaze and the detailing of the decorative motifs is superb. The crown-shaped lid was repaired a long time ago.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
