Louis XV period two-person settee 49½"

This stunning two-person Louis XV period settee dates from the mid-eighteenth century. Sourced from a chateau north of Bordeaux, the frame has been scraped back to show the original patina which included layers of green, gold leaf and pale pink.

Note the rose cresting on the back, flower cabriole legs including the pair in the middle, adding extra stability - a sign of quality. The sofa has been reupholstered at some point with a very pretty dark green floral fabric that is likely a blend of silk and wool. A stunning choice for a bedroom, guestroom or living room.
