Dating from the twentieth century, a unique and sublime green and white Limoges porcelain tea service featuring a Louis XIV-style "habit de parfumeur" figure. The set includes six tea cups with saucers, one rectangular teapot, and one rectangular sugar box. Note the close-up photos to view the striking details woven into the clothing of the man labeled "habit de parfumeur" beneath after a 1695 etching and engraving by Nicolas II de Larmessin.
This French painter and engraver produced a series of 97 engravings representing the characters of the time depicting their tools and productions of their crafts. The tea set collection here represents a perfume seller composed of fans and bottles of perfume. A whimsical set to infuse French charm to your tea routine or to display as an elegant arrangement in a glass vitrine. Source for Nicolas II de Larmessin details: Bénézit Guide
