This late 19th-century terracotta water jug, also called "gargoulette", is typical of the Provençal region and was used to fetch water at the village fountain. It features a rustic, handcrafted design with a natural, unglazed finish on the lower half and a soft, cream glaze on the upper portion.

A rare and valuable feature of this piece is that it retains its original lid. The signs of use and age give it an authentic, timeworn patina, further enhancing its rustic charm.

Whether displayed in a country-style kitchen or used as a decorative element in a garden or patio, this jug captures the essence of Provençal craftsmanship and French rural life.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
