A chic late 19th-century Louis XVI style jardinière in carved wood with its original zinc liner, later painted a deep bottle green. The front features a lattice frieze centered by a rosette, with paneled sides, a plain back designed to sit against a wall, and slender cabriole legs lending a light, elegant silhouette. Nicely timeworn, the piece shows scattered paint losses, minor carving chips, and age marks to the zinc liner, yet remains sturdy and ready for use.
Perfect in an entryway or conservatory planted with orchids or trailing ivy, or on a covered terrace or sunny kitchen corner filled with aromatic herbs, this jardinière brings an immediate sense of refinement and old-world charm. Both sophisticated and effortless, it feels equally at home in French country or contemporary interiors, where it lends a chic, cultivated garden atmosphere.
