This late 19th-century Kanti pitcher from the Languedoc region of southwestern France features a distinctive closed-top design, traditionally used for carrying drinking water from communal village fountains and then using as a water bottle - pouring right into one's mouth. Crafted from terracotta, it has a gracefully tapered base and a rounded body, with a pale yellow glaze covering the upper portion. The two small, curved spouts and robust central handle exhibit both function and charm, with traces of wear that reveal the natural clay beneath the glaze.

With its rustic patina and weathered surface, this pitcher makes a striking addition to a farmhouse kitchen or Mediterranean-inspired interior. Display it on a countertop or open shelf alongside other antique pottery, or use it as a sculptural accent on a console table.
