Mirror, Louis XVI, gilt wood, late-18th-century

This rare Louis XVI mirror dates to circa 1770 / 1780. The frame has a lovely simple pattern and the aged glass is the original. Mirrors were used to reflect candlelight to illuminate homes. Condition and patina consistent with age .
