A very large pair of altar candlesticks from the eighteenth century (very possibly seventeenth century). The front face is gilded and the other two faces are painted. This is typical as the back sides were not visible to the congregation and gold leaf was an expensive finish.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
Each measures approx. 38¼" high x 9¾" diameter
