Large oval tureen Dieulefit - yellow w/ brown - 17¾"

Dating from the late-nineteenth century, this superb, large-scale tureen is from Dieulefit and is glazed with yellow and the handles and borders dark brown. Note, the lid doesn't seal perfectly on the base, therefore decorative use recommended. This will make a lovely addition to a collection of antique French pottery.

Dieulefit, a village in the Drôme department of southeastern France, has a long-standing tradition of ceramic production dating back to the 18th century. Known for its high-quality faience, Dieulefit ceramics are traditionally glazed in vibrant green or yellow ochre, often accented with a dark brown border.
