A tall antique French pot from Savoy (the French alps) with two round handles. It would have originally had a lid and been used for tobacco. This would be a lovely pot to use as a vase, wine cooler, utensil holder or cachepot. Late-nineteenth to early-twentieth century.
Note the special type of marbled glaze known in French as "jaspé" (jasper) or "jaspé de Savoie" using splashes of glaze typically in shades of ocher, brown yellow and green.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
