Large French butcher's shop beam weigh scale w/ bronze weight

Dating from the end of the nineteenth century, a lovely beam scale with a large, solid bronze counterweight originally used to weigh meat in a butcher's shop in France. Note the maximum weight marked is 165 kilograms. Observe in detailed photos the numerous small stamps on the bronze weight that would have been stamped by regulatory committees in France to ensure that it was properly calibrated.
