The price is all-inclusive, no duties, taxes or shipping.
A superb, large French antique terracotta confit pot with four ribbed loop handles from the early twentieth century. It is glazed with a pretty warm ochre color on the inside, and the outside features its natural patina. Confit pots are from southwest France and were used to store food under a layer of fat that sealed in the freshness.
In lovely condition for its age, this piece would be a magnificent French decoration next to a fireplace or in a corner filled with stems of tall dried wheat. If used as a cachepot for a plant or topiary, please note there is no drainage hole so adequate drainage practices will need to be considered. Note the single line drawn near the top. Perhaps an indicator of the size or model.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
