Large 17th century portrait of a lady, anonymous 45¾ x 37¾""

This impressive large scale portrait of a lady dates from the seventeenth-century. She is somewhat androgynous with a masculine hand that holds wheat sheafs. The frame is beautifully carved and gilded and also dates from the seventeenth-century. At some point (a significant time ago) the frame was re-sized, most likely in the nineteenth century when the canvas was stretched onto a second support canvas to preserve the work. Unsigned.
