A stunning quality Provençal oak corner cabinet dating from the nineteenth century and sourced in Avignon. Note the lovely top cornice shaped with a curved chapeau de gendarme form and sublime distressed patina. The upper two-door cabinet opens using a key included for the left door to reveal three interior shelving areas. The bottom two doors open with an included key as well. Note the pretty carving to the scalloped apron featuring a soupier and olive branches - typical of symbolic Provençal motifs.
Made in two separate parts (top and bottom). Finely crafted of great quality and condition, this piece would grace any corner area in a kitchen or dining room with easy Provençal charm. The cupboard doors operate smoothly.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
