Set of two French ironstone jars, originally used for preserves. The lip at the top of the jar was for fastening a fabric cover.

One jar has a maker’s mark reading ‘L.M & CIE Déposé Creil et Montereau’. La faïence de Creil-Montereau is renowned for its exquisite stoneware. Light wear consistent with age and use.

Sizes are:
