This exquisite hand-forged artisan iron gate dates from the eighteenth century époque of Louis XVI, France. Originally made for a French countess, it has been passed down in the family and sourced from the previous owner's home in Aix-en-Provence. It was used in an interior foyer separating the entry from the salon.
Intricately hand-forged from with splendid detail, note the beautiful escargot swirl details and rivets as seen in photos. This artisan piece will add incredible charm in any application. Today, it could be used indoors or outdoors in a garden for decoration or practical use. Note the central handle mechanism was added at a later date.
