This authentic antique Parisian street sign, made of enamel on iron, dates back to the late 19th or early 20th century. It features the name "Rue de Galliera," a street located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, a prestigious district known for its elegant architecture and proximity to famous landmarks like the Trocadéro and the Palais de Tokyo.

Rue de Galliera is named after the Duchess of Galliera, Maria Brignole Sale De Ferrari, an Italian aristocrat known for her philanthropy and contributions to Parisian society. The street is also near the Musée Galliera, Paris's museum of fashion and fashion history, housed in a palace donated by the Duchess herself.

This sign not only serves as a historical artifact but also as a decorative piece that evokes the charm and elegance of Paris. Its enamel surface, with its characteristic green border and white lettering on a deep blue background, remains a quintessential symbol of the city's enduring style.
