A 20th century plaster mold of an iconic 16th century medallion. This medallion is an extremely rare piece taken directly from the original sculpture. There is a plaque of authenticity on the back which references The Louvre.
The original bust dates to the mid 16th century and has been displayed at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon since 1907. The original piece is limestone and was once on the façade of a home in Vienne, Isère France. The sensual sculpture depicts a woman emerging from folds of drapery, eyes nearly closed and her bosom exposed.
The last two images are the plaque and original piece on display in Lyon.
