Early 20th century matchstick holder 4¾"

Dating from the early twentieth-century, this ceramic (biscuit) grotesque figure is being bitten on the nose by a mosquito. There are little holes in the head for displaying matches, making this a comical scene as though his hair is standing on end. Made in Germany.
