Glove-making stand, early-19th-century 27½"

This glove-making stand dates from the nineteenth century. Pressing the small foot lever on the base prompts the clamp to open so that a glove can be secured in place ready for a glove to be made. There are guides for the needlework to be completed neatly along the seams of the gloves.
