Dating from the 1900s, this lovely, timeworn apothecary jar retains its lid. Hand-painted with the label 'Diascord'. In historical pharmacy, many remedies, elixirs, and compounds were stored in ceramic pots or jars, often labeled with the name of the contents. These containers were commonly used before the advent of modern pharmaceutical packaging and could range from simple ointments to complex herbal mixtures.
A lovely pot to display with a collection of antique pottery.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
