The lids are fixed with nails and they are open underneath. Cork oak trees thrive in sunny, low rainfall, and high humidity conditions typical of the Mediterranean.

The cork is harvested every 8 to 14 years without harming the tree, as it regenerates its bark. This sustainable practice ensures the durability and insulating properties of the material.
