1960s artisan French horseshoe standing ashtray

This unique artisan-made standing iron ashtray from the 1960s came from a household in France that adored horses. The ashtray sits on a sculptural chain supported by three salvaged horseshoes. Was originally gilded, evident on the underside of the top and on the chain links and base. This functional sculpture demonstrates excellent craft and could be used today as a "vide poche" or catch-all tray for items in an entry or study space.
