This elegant rectangular Art Nouveau earthenware tureen retains the original lid and is adorned with pretty blue flowers. Named "Royat," as indicated on the bottom, this pattern was crafted by the renowned Sarreguemines Faience factory. The tureen exemplifies the intricate design and aesthetic typical of the early 20th century. Observe the detail and shape of the handles on the ends of the tureen and lid.

The Sarreguemines factory, established in 1790 in Sarreguemines, France, gained fame for its high-quality earthenware and faience. Known for its innovative designs and artistic excellence, the factory thrived throughout the 19th and into the 20th century, producing a wide array of decorative ceramics that were celebrated across Europe. Despite closing in the late 20th century, Sarreguemines ceramics remain highly sought after by collectors and admirers of fine earthenware.
