Antique Sheep Sculpture on Wood - 15"

This antique painted sheep sculpture on a wooden block labeled with the type of sheep, Zuslechtena Valaska. Perhaps a model from a butcher shop advertisement or a school at the end of the nineteenth/early twentieth century. Likely constructed of plaster, this sheep would make a charming edition to any interior or garden. The piece is solid, but note there have been repairs showing the cracks where the legs meet the body.
